We will be sampling the following highly rated wines at both our Waltham locations this weekend to help make your Father's Day gift giving a little bit easier....
Schramsberg, Blanc de Blanc $29.99 ON SALE
Fun Facts: "Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America's first commercially produced, Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic "Toast to Peace" in Beijing, China."
2009 Melville, Chardonnay $29.99
This is, hands down, my favorite Chardonnay. If you have been in either of our Waltham stores, you have seen "Hayley's Pick" or "Hayley's Top 5" stuck to this wine. Finding a Chard that has enough acidity, flavor and oak integration/balance to keep me interested is somewhat difficult, but this bad boy does the job every single time!
2010 Owen Roe, Share Cropper, Pinot Noir $22.99
"showcases notes of Rainier cherry and juicy raspberry, which are enhanced by structural nuances of mushroom, earth and tobacco" - Winemaker
2010 Trentadue, La Storia, Zinfandel $23.99
"cofermented with 12 percent Petite Sirah for enhanced color and depth before spending nearly a year in a combination of European and American oak barrels. This lush and jammy "Zin" features black raspberry and baked plum fruit interwoven with baking spices, fennel, cola, cracked pepper and blood orange." - NYT Wine Club
2010 Austin Hope, Syrah $29.99
#76 on Wine Spectators Top 100 of 2012!
"... deeply concentrated purple color with aromas of blueberry, cherry and hints of spice and wild herbs. Fresh, juicy berries, plum and red cherry emerge on the palate, balanced by notes of smoked meat and chocolate"
2005 Beronia, Gran Riserva, Rioja $32.99. 93WE, 90WS
This tempranillo is powerful and sweetly fruited with dense, warm, spicy oak notes as well as ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit. It's also dripping with accolades! 93 points Wine Enthusiast, 90 points Wine Spectator, and 91 points from Stephen Tanzer!
2009 Obsidian Ridge, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley $29.99
Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. 90 points from Wine Enthusiast.
2007 Mirafiore, Barolo $37.99
91 points Wine Spectator
A chewy style, with rich cherry, licorice and tobacco flavors and dense tannins, yet round and open, with a slight firmness still present on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2026. 4,000 cases made.
